press at youtube.com is their "media inquiry" address. i think that some harpoons need to be manned about this issue, with cc's to local media outlets, the EFF, etc. it's horrendous that youtube sends out personal information to people against whom claims have been filed. what if i submitted a claim, and then someone came to my home and assaulted me? that seems very irresponsible of them.

If you select the latter, you have to provide your information for verification. However, the former is a bullshit selection. If you choose it, and click next, here's the message you get:

I think he just looked at the counter-claim form of the notice he got from youtube, which requires the name of whoever's video it is (I don't get it, legal stuff) So youtube is obliged to send it for some bizzare reason, whether it's to scilons or not. Seeing as it appears he was the reciever of the counter-claim email, it's likely he was the one who filed the fraudulent claim to start with.

YouTube's DMCA system has a bug, which is exploitable, because it is possible to make false DMCA claims and take videos down this way.
The only way how YouTube will ever fix this bug, is when it gets exploited on a massive scale.

ScreenCap for Gregg...mixed feelings about posting this, as I don't want to help spread the guy's personal info. Reporting my own post accordingly, but hope Gregg can be alerted. Will PM him the link, but with WWP having (apparently) been hacked (most likely by operatives under contract to OSA, I don't have total confidence that the PM will arrive, given that it probably is a mistake/footbullet on the part of "Mr Newton".
