Any critics or Anons in the Detroit/Windsor/Toronto/Southern Ontario region might want to scout around and check up on any Scilon presence at this continental shindig in August. Scientology just wants to be known as an ordinary religion and hanging out with people from real respectable churches helps them in this goal. I am very sure Scilons will be there. They are already doing such things locally in various cities so I am confident that they will not miss the ''big one'' in Detroit in August. Just keep this in mind. http://nain.org/
CoS will certainly be trying to get people inside that conference, like "Reverend" Pat Felske from Toronto. The problem is how to cut them from the herd. The conference will be full of people who think that there's no such thing as a bad religion, just misunderstood (and won't listen to the argument that Scientology's religious cloaking is a deliberate sham). That CoS doc with the breakdown of the Ministers course and how short it is (900 minutes plus the new clay demos) might be useful.
This one slipped under the radar last year: Check the banner: Check out the administration: Names in Red are Vancouver Scientologists. Check the Government Support: And there is ... http://nain.org/about-us/who-we-are/ Here's the Member's Print List. The cult isn't on the list but it gives a clear picture of the cult's infiltration targets:
I bet there's some more Scientologists on those Interfaith groups. They like those things for cover and can devote a lot more time to them than most other groups.
There was a big event in Edmonton earlier this month. http://edmontoncpwr.ca/ This is a very old group. They have been doing this sort of thing since 1893. http://www.parliamentofreligions.org/index.cfm?n=7&sn=112 Al Buttnor was on the Edmonton committee. http://edmontoncpwr.ca/committee.php In Toronto the ''Reverend'' (My Name is) Earl Smith is involved in similar get togethers too numerous to list. Just do a search on preacher man Smith and you will see. He also has his own TV show on Rogers Cable regarding religion and interfaith stuff. Is the show still on TV? Amazing what one can do after finishing a 900 minute Ministers Course. In Southern California Muriel DuFresne was involved in some sort of interfaith thingie. http://blog.pe.com/colleges-univers...interfaith-conference-promotes-understanding/ So yeah, it sounds like a sure thing at least someone from the Church of Scientology will be in Detroit for the conference. I bet it will be someone high up in the OSA. Just who is the question.
That looks like a current list. So... back in Edmonton? They shuffled him to Toronto after his pedo charges and the flying libel cases.
I assume that he is in Edmonton. I can't say for sure since he never really mentions Scientology these days. About two years ago he was all over the internet with his own blog and also commenting on various boards (about subjects that had nothing to do with Scientology or religion or psychiatry or drugs). His Blog which hasn't had an essay by Al since 2012. No mention of spirituality, psychs, drugs, crime, or religion. http://albuttnor.blogspot.ca/ Warning: Boring essays in the annoying styles of Marty and Mike. It's very mysterious what is going on here with Al Buttnor. I wonder if he is working for the Edmonton Org. Maybe he is still in deep shit with the C of S and he is quietly working his way back into the good graces of the cult. Perhaps he just has a passion for religion and is on the committee because it was his idea and it has nothing to do with the OSA.......nah. It makes a little more sense that he is a plant on orders from Toronto but I really don't know for sure. The lack of information on him seems intentional and I would think that the C of S in Toronto or Caledon is behind this lack of info. That is how it usually works. Anything is possible and I will admit that it may even be possible that Al Buttnor has quietly left the cult. But I only say that since there is very little information on him one way or the other.
Maybe, but what other group would he represent on that "Edmonton Committee for a Parliament of the World’s Religions"? I'll assume plant with orders to keep quiet and do the job.
Well I agree with you. He most likely is a plant for the C of S. I just like to lay out as many possible ideas as I can. I mean it is possible that he would represent himself as a ''spiritual seeker'' just like Marty likes to do. A Minister who was in Scientology and all that. Reading his posts and blog he certainly comes off as pretentious as Marty. Highly improbable but there it is. It is also possible that he is working for Anon and Big Pharma as well and is planning to embarrass Scientology (please don't attack me). Now of course that makes more sense, especially the keep quiet part since that is exactly what has been happening. Sorry for the derail. I didn't mean to talk about Bullethead Buttnor so much in a Detroit thread.
Scientology is working the Interfaith circuit this summer. https://whyweprotest.net/community/...peak-at-chautauqua-institution-in-july.118585
That is about all I can find regarding Scientology's involvement in this. Well, there is this. http://ca.linkedin.com/pub/earl-smith/19/623/917 Earl Smith's Overview Current Scientology interfaith rep at NAIN President at EW Smith Roofing Past Member at Universal Peace Federation Connections192 connections Earl Smith's Experience Scientology interfaith rep NAIN 1986 – Present (28 years) President EW Smith Roofing 1978 – Present (36 years) Member Universal Peace Federation Nonprofit; 11-50 employees; International Affairs industry 2000 – 2010 (10 years) That doesn't mean that the ''Reverend'' Earl Smith of Toronto will be there, though. One just can't assume that. I think someone from Scientology will be there though. I just don't know who.
It isn't just the C of S that screws around with the names of its outfits, looks like individual Scilons do it too. Man oh man! Toronto sure has a lot of Scilon roofing, masonry, construction and reno businesses. Doug Pearse, Mike Crellin, Otto Wilkens, Larry Bonifacio, Larry Densmore, Dan Bryenton, John Stewart, and who knows who else are all involved in these kinds of work.
Contracting does seem to be a popular option. If nothing else, it leaves them free to sub-contract work that needs to be done right to wogs that actually know what they're doing. Of course sometimes they don't get around to paying those wogs and end up having to try and manage on their own, often with predictable results.
http://nain.org/category/nainews/nainblog/ Hal French, a dear friend of NAIN and longtime interfaith activist, passed away July 10, 2014, in Columbia, SC. He is survived by his wife, Rannie French, and three children, Steve (in Colorado), Mark (in S.C.), and Rebecca (in Kansas.) Obituary We will miss his sweet smile, gentle manner, passion for interfaith, and very considerable scholarship. Hal’s career included ministry, chaplaincy, authoring and editing, and over 40 years of university teaching. Although he retired as Chair of the Religious Studies Department at the University of South Carolina in 1995, he [like many of us] “failed retirement” and continued teaching part-time. Kay Lindahl first reported the news to me and said that it was a shock, as she had been in recent email correspondence with him. Several NAregulars have responded to the news with affectionate memories. “I will miss Hal. I looked forward to seeing and talking with him at each connect we were at . His humour, insightfulness, joy of life and understanding made these times together memorable and fun to be with . Let’s honour him in Detroit “ –Earl Smith Does that mean ''my name is'' Earl Smith is going to be in Detroit? Possibly. Who else in Scientology will be there?
There isn't really much about the event, at least not yet. Or maybe there is and I just don't know how to look. There is this: http://www.global-catholic.org/2014_08_01_archive.html I would have liked to have been there if only to see the Scilons mingling with the Reverends, and Imans. Such a sight is more sickening than bizarre, or amusing, or any other words you could use to describe it, but I would have liked to have seen that just the same. From the sounds of it, a lot of the groups that came to the event were not even religious in nature. For instance, there were women's groups, there was some event regarding poverty -- that sort of stuff. I would have also been curious as to what kind of pamphlets the Scilons displayed.
