DDOS Situation Seems the site has been experiencing a fair bit of DDOS recently? What's going on? Didn't some Anon come forward to help with the migrating of the serves to help prevent this? So.....WTF?
Re: DDOS Situation When I checked in at 6 am yesterday morning it was down, and it was down all day. The last I checked was 12 midnight last night, and it still wasn't back up. this is the first I have been able to get on since 6 am yesterday
Re: DDOS Situation Pfft! WWP's been down a couple of days here in the AU. Like a DDoS attack is going to stop or slow the sinking of SS Scientology? BWAHAHAHAHA
Re: DDOS Situation There was a post from a WWP mod on ESMB confirming ddos. I cba'd to go find it but it's there.
Re: DDOS Situation The daily maintenance only takes about 10-15 max, if WWP is down longer this this it's a ddos ok?
Re: DDOS Situation Yeah guys, I need something to do while I'm at work on a Sunday. I was sad all day
Re: DDOS Situation If it was a DDOS it just shows how effective WWP is, as otherwise they would not bother. in b4 OSA/marblecaek/b/ ;-P
Re: DDOS Situation Doesn't really matter who it was, to discuss them gives them validity. So why bother?
Re: DDOS Situation Next time there's a DDoS against this site (and I'd bet money on that happening), remember that Scientology has never been responsible for one against this site. Bear that in mind before you convince yourself that it's Scientology taking the site down.
Re: DDOS Situation At the rate $cientology auditing destroys brain cells, they would be lucky just to escape the cult---oh wait---
Re: DDOS Situation Scientology is sorta like Mogwai... Doused liberally (or minimally) with H2O the books & lectures (especially illicit mp3s) come to life and wreak all manner of mischievous havoc against apparently critical websites. Also, if you rest plates of food on stacks of books by Hubbard after midnight... You're pissing in the wind with that one.
Re: DDOS Situation It wasn't them what were claiming / accused of being behind it on IRC either - 'fessed up when site came back online.
Re: DDOS Situation Why? It's not like it's DC-8 rocket-plane science beyond the understanding of Scilon-skiddies. Back when they were doing their sprogery flood runs on ARS, they were using a customized version of Hipcrime. Either they modified an existing copy or they paid someone to do it for them. Their execution of it was fairly lame, but hard to stop because they could send out minions like Tory to set up hundreds of dummy accounts with ISPs. They might have less minions these days, but I'm sure that they're quite willing to spend thousands of tax-exempt "parishioner" donation dollars now and then to strike a blow against online problems.
Re: DDOS Situation Well, if my inspections of Tory's computers after she bailed out, and my field service work amongst the WISE companies proved anything to me, it's that you can have the best security software etc., and if it's too complicated for the user, they will ignore, bypass or just plain half-ass it. Yes, the Scilons unwittingly hired me to fix computers in L.A. after 9-11. lol edit: %pacnet! edit2: if anyone's still using that admin passwd after all these years lol lol lol... edit3: and never tell me that my techs MUST risk electrocution by turning up a server with a clearly, visibly damaged power supply because it must be made to go right. Especially when the customer backed over the box with his own car because he's ditzy from Auditine. edit4: and that goes TRIPLE when the customer is making 230 senior citizens live on burnt weenies and applesauce so he can pay himself a bonus for his Bridge this month. edit5: Yes, Virginia, Scilons are in the Retirement Home business.
Re: DDOS Situation Probably summerfags trying to be l33t before they go back to school. "derp derp theys irl theys not anon derp derp attack"
