Re: David Gaiman has died. Also, concerning Neil, did anyone else draw a comparison between Roderick Burgess from The Sandman and Hubbard? He starts a cult of sorts, called "The Order of the Ancient Mysteries". He's rivals with Alistair Crowley and attempts to summon Death. From the wikipedia entry on L. Ron Hubbard: Burgess also has a son, Alex, who turns out to be gay and takes over for him after his death. Hubbard's son Quentin was gay, and Hubbard had planned to have him take over the CoS (not that that worked out). Also, references to "The Order of the Ancient Mysteries" being used for financial gain were made. Just a thought.

I don't know about that, but David Gaiman wrote an interesting response to Paulette Cooper when she asked about the Crowley/Parsons connection: The Scandal of Scientology / Appendix: The Scientologist's Story (bottom of the page). Gaiman was quite a communicator. Note his response to Q.19. An "acceptable truth".

He was the first to harass me, serving me with a bogus lawsuit when I was in Scotland; also having Scientologists totally surround my hotel when I was in Scotland which prevented me from writing the story I was there to write.
