The sample emails are fairly bland personal emails, I assume they weren't able to find anything controversial?

I would imagine the people involved in this already proxy (or psuedo-proxy by using neighbours' wifi etc) and, naturally, details given are fake (unless they're just dumb or lurking newfags who are just cheerleading)

    wut.
nothing on Page 8 that's particularly interesting.
It mentions that LOIC can use private IRC channels for bot control.
This is no different from what bots have been doing forever, and it doesn't make IRC any less secure or more dangerous.

btw, many IRCnets (anonnet in particular) aren't TOR-friendly,
if you want to proxy you'll need to find another way.
  14. Absolutely brilliant work. Now, if only CNN would do some reporting like this...
  15. He talked about gaining IRC user data from the rooms after an attack because people were less careful then. It is true of me, I thought just lurking during off hours was safer.

Aaron Barr could have saved face, if he had taken it easy and held a talk about the security flaws in HBGary's system, that Anonymous could exploit to hack their servers, instead of the planned talk about how he identified Anonymous leaders.
This excuse to cancel the talk just looks pathetic and whiny.
  21. Anonymous Member

Pure tinfoil theory, but fits facts: Uh, uh, uh ... they didn't cancel. They were cancelled. This sign was their 'save face' for getting kicked off the program by conference operators who wanted no trouble.

  25. >A group of aggressive hackers known as “Anonymous” illegally broke into computer systems and stole proprietary and confidential information >from HBGary, Inc. This breach was in violation of federal and state laws, and stolen information was publicly released without our consent.

    >This breach was in violation of federal and state laws, and stolen information was publicly released without our consent.

    >without our consent.

    >consent.

They claim that they received threats of violence, including threats at their tradeshow booth.

So... They're accusing members of the RSA Conference community of making threats of violence? That's another great business move. Maybe they're including the people who told these lamers to FOAD or DIAF?

According to leaked emails, Aaron has a pet Hamster.
If this is true your forum nick is arguably a threat of violence.

    BRB, enjoy the partyv&
  33. co-founder of Anonymous, who uses the nickname Q after the character in James Bond, has been seeking replacements for Owen and others who have had to curtail activities, said researcher Aaron Barr, head of security services firm HBGary Federal.

I thought Q was from Star Trek NG

  36. No worries, people of HBGary Federal. I'm sure there are plenty of openings in the Bureau of Prisons for the position of prison bitch. Better get your goatse practice in.
