John P from Village Voice has recently made the point that the quickest way to energize disinterested masses to stand against Scientology is to link it to child abuse. He said that most people don't have time and aren't interested in abstract arguments and general weirdness of the religion but will recoil in horror if they learn about the way the Cult treats children. Note that 'meme' in this context means 'simple message that can spread quickly', not cat pictures. I know that his explanation is rather tl;dr but do try to at least skim through: Introduction: He briefly recounts the history of memes that where connected to Scientology in the past: Situation right now and what to do: He also compares the whole thing to recent Sandusky situation: So what are the raw materials for meme building? I can think of a few: 1. TomKat divorce. Media has already linked divorce to Kate trying to save her daughter from cult indoctrination. We should milk this to the max. 2. Minors working in Sea Org. Scilons have already admitted to employing children under 16 and to lying about it previously. You know what to do. 3. Death of Alexander Jentzch. Okay he is not technically a kid but the way they won't allow to his mother to see the body is breathtakingly cruel. 4. Disconnection policy. Pretty self-explanatory I think. tl;dr version: Make sure that Child Abuse label sticks to CoS and even people who don't give a fuck will be mobilized to action.
