Creating 'Scientology is Child Abuse' Meme

John P from Village Voice has recently made the point that the quickest way to energize disinterested masses to stand against Scientology is to link it to child abuse. He said that most people don't have time and aren't interested in abstract arguments and general weirdness of the religion but will recoil in horror if they learn about the way the Cult treats children. Note that 'meme' in this context means 'simple message that can spread quickly', not cat pictures. I know that his explanation is rather tl;dr but do try to at least skim through:

He briefly recounts the history of memes that where connected to Scientology in the past:
Situation right now and what to do:
He also compares the whole thing to recent Sandusky situation:
So what are the raw materials for meme building? I can think of a few:

    1. TomKat divorce. Media has already linked divorce to Kate trying to save her daughter from cult indoctrination. We should milk this to the max.

    2. Minors working in Sea Org. Scilons have already admitted to employing children under 16 and to lying about it previously. You know what to do.

    3. Death of Alexander Jentzch. Okay he is not technically a kid but the way they won't allow to his mother to see the body is breathtakingly cruel.

    4. Disconnection policy. Pretty self-explanatory I think.

tl;dr version: Make sure that Child Abuse label sticks to CoS and even people who don't give a fuck will be mobilized to action.

John P is a legend. His insight and abstract linear thinking has made the job of contextualizing the cult far easier.

I think this is happening and hopefully my "Scientology = Child Abuse" stickied thread in the Media section is helping to do that but the message needs to be got out far and wide. My thread reads like a horror story. I have noticed other media outlets using the same themes. Like one of them is the sexual content of "auditing" and how a girl of 14 might "audit" a man of 40 about their sexual habits.

I think the "Scientology is Child Abuse" meme is a good idea and will stir people into action so how about posting to forums that cover the local area a "church" is in to see what action can be fomented?

Didn't Richard Dawkins says that parents forcing their religious views onto their children was a form of child abuse?
I only mention this because if you said "Scientology is Child Abuse" to me i would just reply that all religions are a form of child abuse.
A better phrase might be "Scientology is Child Abuse because...." and then you could list your points.

I do recall Dawkins making such a statement. It was in a film or TV documentary production. It's been a few years and I forget the title. However, I think that the statement may be one that was leveled at the fundamentalist religious moonbats in America.

There is a hideous film called "Bible Camp" that is just grotesque in terms of child abuse.
  35. Yes, in his book, The God Delusion, Dawkins argues that children should not be labelled by their parents' religion. A 'Catholic child' or 'Baptist child' etc should make us cringe.

UC Berkeley. March 8, 2008: "When you hear a child labelled as a christian child simply because its parents are christian, then that is child abuse."

  37. Oh I know. It's not going to happen. I think it's the wrong strategy for fighting this battle anyway. I think the best way is to fight Co$ for human rights violations etc rather than scientology for being rubbish. It's up to them what they want to believe. Freedom of Religion is fine if it doesn't hurt anyone else.

    Stay on topic folks!

I am something of a deist who used to really like Dawkins but I lost some respect for the man precisely because of useless scattergun statements like that.

Pray tell where you find fault with his statement above. I'm dying to hear.
