    E.g. 21 posts at Mike's blog when I google:

Idea to add (or replace) links for individual comments on RInder's blog with such a google?

There are 140 entries with a link to his blog. I may be able to generate a list of names on the big list including the link to be added. Just give one example of the source code you need. Of course I could also do this for other sites we often use.

Not a good idea privacy-wise. Scientologists under the radar could be clicking links from the big list in Private Browsing mode on a browser to hide their browsing history. Google stores such searches on the server side profiling them and related adverts/etc could out them on a shared computer to someone else visiting Google.

    You are awesome!

Is there some way to prevent this from happening again? It was quite targeted.

Oh, and have I told you you are awesome?

Then let me correct that. You are awesome!

    Good grief.

The big list is more than 9 years of work by now. I'd hate to lose it.

Nope, the admins of that wiki are long gone.
It also took him 10 to 20 times longer to do than it took me to fix, once I awoke. So it's a bigger timesink for him than me.

EDIT: Also, a big thank you goes out to more wikianons joining in to help revert vandalism/spam edits in a timely manner! :)

I guess we could start another wiki, thus being able to prevent non-authorised users to vandalize the pages, but that would change the link to the big list (and probably have other disadvantages)? Is that how this works?
  15. Incredulicide Member

I reported the vandal to (with a successful result within hours, so I'm happy to say there's no such thing as an undefended wikia community!) and encourage others to do so in case I'm absent (asleep) in future in preference to repeatedly posting in this thread about the similar users/patterns of vandalism.

I also encourage others to keep backup and mirror wiki sites, as I once did until I figured out 4 minutes of undoing vandalism every so often is less effort than propagating changes to multiple wikis whenever the big list is updated. One thing is for sure: restricting access on non-selfhosted sites always eventually leads to outdated lists. Domains expire, wikis targetted by spam are given up on and shut down, admins move on/die/etc. Here's a stroll through remnants of those mirrors and the number of names they stopped at:

    1688 names

    1902 names

    2388 names

Looks like there's a bug in the database from the way I needed to make the URL list his completion:

Isn't Karl the middle name, and the first name begins with the initial "A"? I'd grant it if the commenter name was given exactly the same as in that entry, but it isn't so I'm voting no.

Ah, I'd forgotten about the argument that went on about A.K. Myers..
I missed it but someone definitely replied in that thread calling him "Karl". So I guess I should update that entry and also include the newest blog comment.

Other than Facebook being unWaybackable (hence I'll link to CommunicatorIC's screenshot at ) everything looks hunky dory to me for adding her name, as we've done in the past on photo-only entries from SP events, and Tory on the list is vouching for her. She's also listed in completions as Clear #30628. Anything else you're not sure about?

Her entry will look something like:

This is the third thread where we discuss names to add to the big list (and more info to improve entries) which is located at:

The two previous threads are locked as they grew too large for the forum software running on this site to manage without crashing. Excrement eventuates. Those threads are at:

Currently there are 2894 names on the list.

For those unable to load the last page of the most recently locked thread, the posts from that page will be copied into the first few posts of this thread.

The older two might as well be unstickied.

Mark Turi was discussed earlier on the names to be confirmed thread

Search for his name to find the post. Not sure, but I think the links to the separate posts in that thread got lost because of cleaning up spam or something.

He recently participated in an event:

I suppose the people who organized the event checked him out so that means there is proof he was in.
  35. Incredulicide Member

Mark Turi is an AKA of Mark Tordai, already on the list. His event title "Who's the Best?" matches his upcoming book title and his time in and multi-country story also match. The name change could be related to him being in the movie business. I'll add the AKA to his entry.

    ZOMG :)

"Leah Remini will be appearing on an episode of Jada Pinkett Smith’s Facebook Live show Red Table Talk this season."

For now we can not add Will and Jada, but I am sure there will be some follow up in the press of this once it happens. I hear it will be October 22nd?

    also (available without an account)

ETA we added Tom Bergeron based on only a tweet, so we might as well add Jada right now?
