Confirmed: www.bultannews.com OUTING protesters!

Discussion in 'Iran' started by Unregistered, Jun 21, 2009.

  1. They're asking for help to identify protesters here:
    www.gerdab.ir/fa/pages/?cid=407]

    Here's a Java program that will fill out the form on that page with data randomly assembled from three textfiles (one file for each of the three form fields: name, email, comment) you can fill with whatever you want :

    Download link

    "commentPoster.zip" is the program.
    (As with all Java programs, you'll have to have a Java Runtime (JRE) installed to use it.)

    The other zip contains the sources (eclipse project/ant buildfile)
  2. spam this site

    go here anonymously: ?????????? ?? ??????? ????

    fill out the from at the bottom of the page. first line is "name" then "email" then "comment"

    click the button to submit

    repeat infinitely

    someone PLEASE write a script to automate this, preferably using farci in the "name" and "comment" boxes to make it harder to identify as spam. there is no captcha for submitting - this is a cakewalk for someone who knows how to do it.

    post link to script here.

    thank you.
  3. oh hells yeah. simultaneous post. thank you!!!

  4. One is linked directly above your post - you feed it what ever text you like, just put the possible names/emails/comments into the text files.

    those are the IPs I get from my home connection, verizon FIOS from Dallas. tracert every time, times out after 11 12 hops.

    from my server in san jose I get 74.55.186.66 rdns server1.sepehrict.net what does that mean? does it tell me somthing about the co location or... just junk
  8. bob

    Facebook army is aware of email campaign to theplanet.com. The flood continues...
  9. if you look at bultannews.com you notice a Powered by ????? ?????? | Sepehr ICT button they seem to be a reseller also hosted at the planet.
  10. If you run this, make sure you are running Tor and set Java to use the proxy server 127.0.0.1, port 8118.

    On Windows, go to control panel->Java->Network Settings (under General tab)->Select "Use proxy server" and enter 127.0.0.1 for the address and 8118 for the port.

    To confirm that the traffic is going through Tor, temporarily stop Tor and then start the comment program. It should barf error messages all over your command prompt window. If you get HTTP status returned 200, with Tor stopped, your Java traffic is NOT being routed through the Tor network, and that would not be good.

    TODO:
    If someone with localization experience coud modify this program so it fills out the form in Farsi, that would rock.

    Add other sites?
  11. MESSAGE TO BASJI, REVOLUTIONARY GUARDS, ARMY

    Many of your Generals have quit taking orders. It's your turn now. Lay down your arms. CHOOSE FREEDOM. Quit shooting your people.

    Your choice, murder your people or freedom. Lay down your arms. CHOOSE FREEDOM.

    If Ahmadjad wins, you continue murdering your people. If Mosavi wins, what happens to you? We have your photos. Lay down your arms. CHOOSE FREEDOM!

    Ask your mother or your wife, should you continue shooting your people or choose freedom?

    His Excellency Khamenei, why choose Ahmadjad when your people choose Mousavi? Dump Ahmadjad & make $$$ from tourists. We love your people.
  12. I think that this is a great idea. Anyone?

  13. Should we be putting pressure on these companies to remove particular websites?

  14. Those better not be real iranian names, even if they're just randomly picked you dont want to get someone in because their name was chosen randomly ya know?
  15. can someone compile a list of basij officials so we can submit them as the protesters, even a little confusion might help rather than just spamming the site with random information
  16. Cattypuss Member

    I think what you guys are trying to do here is really great. Unlike most of you here I am computer techie challenged. I'm probably a dinosaur too - lol. Most here seem young & male. For the record, I am female, nudging 60 and I taught myself how you use the computer, mobiles phones, ipods and all that other nerd driven stuff rapidly being invented. A drawback to living in the Australian countryside I fear. Today's generation have so much ahead of them, so much to live for....let's try and make it a world without oppressive regimes and dictators.
  17. Not sure but I've done over a dozen tracerts to bultannews.com from various hosts and networks and they always end up at 74.55.186.66 (theplanet) for me. I think Sepehrict is just a middleman or reseller between theplanet and the operators of the website. Basically a hosting service in Iran that actually uses theplanet's servers and network.

    The other IPs mentioned don't appear to be serving any website.
  18. Welcome! Don't worry, it's never to late to learn tech stuff, and it sounds like you're doing quite well at it.
  19. farsi

    This is a good start, but I think it'll be easy to sort out unless the messages are sent in farsi. Wikipedia is a good source of random farsi text to copy paste, but I'm worried that too will be easy to filter without realistic farsi names. Additionally I noticed email isn't required, but could someone post the standard forms of some Iranian email addresses so we can fake that field convincingly too? Thnx.
  20. SanguineRose Member

    This is the Email I sent Earlier to ThePlanet.

    I believe its pretty well points out some sweet stuff.

  21. I don't think you would need to modify the program - just put Farsi into the text files.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Should be ridiculously easy as it seems to be the same form (same parameter names).
    You would just have to adjust those values in "Helpful.java":
    Code:
     private final static String ACTIONURL="http://www.gerdab.ir/fa/pages/index.php";
     private final static String REFERERURL="http://www.gerdab.ir/fa/pages/?cid=407";

    to
    Code:
    private final static String ACTIONURL="http://bultannews.com/pages/contact.php";
    private final static String REFERERURL="http://bultannews.com/pages/contact.php";

    And, if you want to be very thorough (since those params don't exist in this form) replace:
    Code:
     private static NameValuePair[] createFormValues(I_Dictionary words){
            return new NameValuePair[] {
                            new NameValuePair(FIELD_NAME, words.getNextName()),
                            new NameValuePair(FIELD_MAIL, words.getNextEmail()),
                            new NameValuePair(FIELD_MSG,words.getNextComment()),
                            HIDDEN_CID, HIDDEN_COMSUB //, SUBMIT

            };
        }

    with
    Code:
     private static NameValuePair[] createFormValues(I_Dictionary words){
            return new NameValuePair[] {
                            new NameValuePair(FIELD_NAME, words.getNextName()),
                            new NameValuePair(FIELD_MAIL, words.getNextEmail()),
                            new NameValuePair(FIELD_MSG,words.getNextComment())
            };
        }

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    I think it would be awesome to have _only_ real names (like using the telephone book as source) and post variation of "The guy in picture $randomNumber is $randomName" living somewhere in $street".
    They will know that it's all crap, but it'll be much harder to filter out the "real" entries if the fake ones aren't just random garbage.
    "I'm Spartacus!"

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    That being said:
    I'll provide a more generic version in the not-too-far-away-future (started with it, but will have to make a break now due to sleep/real life interfering) that'll have a config
    file where you can define all the form's fieldnames and values so it'll work for lots of
    different forms if supply the right URL and stuff in the config file.
  22. Good job! I think that we should keep the pressure on them and, if they don't remove the sites, I think that we should go through on our threat to contact news agencies. I also wrote a letter to my congressman just now about this same company, since they have been warned about hosting terrorist websites in the past. Let's hope they get the act together.
  23. Shit, we've got to go to news agencies now. People could be dying; we don't have time for their legal department to take care of it. I'm all for due process but in extraordinary circumstances like this, we've got to do what we can to support the people on the ground fighting the good fight. E-mail this to CNN, FOX News, MSNBC, Reuters, AP, all of them--with any luck, one of them will pick it up and investigate it and once it goes on tv, bultannews is done for.

    That or we DOS the motherfuckers back to the stone age.
  24. News its been about 24 hours, fuck em. The Planet has been there before, now they go back.

    Please mention to the news that if they can afford to resell in Farsi they can afford to police in Farsi.
    Butannews.com is "powered" by. ????? ?????? | Sepehr ICT also at the planet.
  25. Try Khamenei and Ahmadinejad, they are original murderers, they are the ones who should be arrested.
  26. I don't know who you people are, but we Iranian people do appreciate your non stop efforts. Please keep up the nice work.

  31. Hai, we've kinda been working on a similar thing here: /i/ - Internet 8 Machine

    Tell us what you think, we could probably merge or something.
  32. Can someone quickly explain how to set the Java program so that it is going through Tor? Sorry if this is a silly question. Thanks.
  33. Remember: DO NOT DDoS sites with servers in Iran! It will also slow down the trickle of bandwidth that the good guys have.

I'm all for due process but in extraordinary >circumstances like this, we've got to do what we can to support the people on the ground >fighting the good fight. I put it on Al Jazeera English 2 hours ago
  37. bultannews is down!

    getting nothing but a placeholder page now!

    trying from different IP...very slow to load...same placeholder page!

    it appears the site has been wiped off the face of the internetz!
  38. not a silly question at all. it seems like luck of the draw. the program doesn't explicitly attempt to use the system's proxy configuration, and the library it uses for http doesn't do this automatically. the program should be changed so it always uses the proxy 127.0.0.1:8118, hardcode this in so there's no chance of it connecting without going through privoxy and tor. also the 1 second delay should probably be increased since going through tor tends to be slow.

    i've looked at the http library it is using and it should be easy to do this. i just don't have eclipse or any other ide right now so i can't do it.
