Coffs Harbour Wikileaks rally. The site Wikileaks is a place of open source information. A place where freedom is encouraged, and where current oppression of that very foundation is taking place. Julian Assange, the founder of Wikileaks, is currently being charged with disclosing important defense material to the open internet through his site. He is currently one of the most wanted men in the world, and what for? What Julian had handed to him was essentially the "Brown Envelope" journalists get. He was given information that could be accessed by anyone willing to search. Julian Assange has done nothing wrong. They say we have freedom. Freedom of speech, and freedom on internet. However, these recent acts shows how hypocritical our "democracy" can really be. Boards are being lurked by government officials, IP Addresses are being traced and people are being thrown into S.W.A.T vans, all because they're fighting for their rights. This peaceful protest should prove that Julian is being shown in a bad light. It's time to change the outlook of naysayers. If you feel the same, then please, rally with us on Saturday the 8th of January at The Plaza in Coffs Harbour, and hope that we can make a difference. If attending, bring any necessities; banners, signs, megaphones and of course, any method of concealing identity. One man standing alone in uniform isn't a threat. A hundred men standing together in unity is.
