After Tom in first report says finds son, immediately calls his chaplain Denise...
Wonderful to have hundreds of eyes looking at this stuff.
There needs to be a place to list all of the documented inconsistencies, weird stuff, and stuff that needs further investigation....at some point....

Re: Clearwater PD files on Kyle Brennan's death

I wondered that, too. Maybe Tom used the word "chaplain" in a lame attempt to try to explain his relationship to Denise: "Well, she's uh, it's like, in my church it would be like if I called my chaplain."

I still have not read everything--just the police report and the VLB chronology written for Luke Lirot, which is very informative. It gives a lot of detail about what Kyle was up to during the time between when he left Virginia and his death. Assuming his mom wrote things up accurately (and I have no reason to believe she didn't), it really sounds like Tom wanted to be rid of Kyle.

By the way: Has anyone found any details about the supposed "Battle Plan" that was on Kyle's computer? So far I have found mention of it but no description. That is an item of particular interest because "Battle Plan" is Scilon talk.

Two stray comments in response to previous posts in this thread:

    1. Lack of ridge detail doesn't necessarily mean a surface was wiped clean of fingerprints. More info is needed before that conclusion can be reached.

    2. It's ridiculous to jump to conclusions that Det. Bohling was a Scilon. I have seen this before when people have the same last name as someone who appears on the completions lists. In fact there was identical conclusion-jumping about a Clearwater PD spokesperson (on the Lonsdale case, I think) who people on Enturb assumed was a Scilon and it turned out she was not. Get a grip, folks. It's reasonable to wonder about it but stupid to don your finest tinfoil headgear and make assumptions before a connection is confirmed.

Re: Clearwater PD files on Kyle Brennan's death

If i were to hold a gun, which I have, and point it at my head, which I havent, at least a minimum of two of my fingers (middle and ring) would have left very clear prints on the gun as i gripped it. Also, loose casings means loaded shots one at a time? so his fingers touched each loaded bullet.

And there were no finger prints!?

That said I still think this case will go nowhere or shhhhhhhhhhhh out of court settlement.

Re: Clearwater PD files on Kyle Brennan's death

See, this is what I mean. "No ridge detail" doesn't = "no fingerprints." Maybe there were no fingerprints--maybe everything was wiped clean--I don't know. But that is not what "no ridge detail" means.

    It definitely raises questions though.

Another thing I wondered about: Tom says the gun was not loaded. But there were still four bullets in the chamber after the fatal bullet. Why would someone load five bullets in a gun if he is going to kill himself?

    There always is.
Kinda makes the headline of no $cilon involvement kinda stoopid, no?
Nothing to see here, move along.
There is actually a brain quirk that leads, in varying degrees to premature conclusions (inb4 premature ejaculaton jokes).

    to derail a lil more...

how disappointing would it be. Here you are wanting something quick and painless and all you end up doing is shooting yourself 4 times in the head and hurt a lot. So what do you do when the head wont die? Shoot yourself in the stomach. I mean damn. 5 shots has got to hurt to live through. After 2 bullets in the head I'd stop and say, "Well maybe I AM supposed to live."

There is super sketchiness abounds with this, but what isnt that involves the cult? Doesn't mean she can win in court...and police report does look like they did what they were supposed to, as in followed the rules.

Re: Clearwater PD files on Kyle Brennan's death

Weird conclusion after the previous paragraph.
As far as the "shhhhh", even if there is a non-disclosure, the fact that there is a settlement won't be "shhhhhh".

Re: Clearwater PD files on Kyle Brennan's death

Which doesn't mean that they did a good job, or even if they did a good job, that they didn't miss something or make a mistake.
In fact, I guarantee they missed things and made mistakes, based on the fact that they are human alone.

Re: Clearwater PD files on Kyle Brennan's death

Oh I agree subgenius. Completely. This late in the game though will the police reopen it? Most likely no. Still, seeing if St Pete Times wants to run with this or not.
  15. subgenius Member

Re: Clearwater PD files on Kyle Brennan's death

Not sure anyone suggested that the police re-open. Any report is a snapshot, even if out of focus.
BTW, I admire the wisdom of anyone who agrees with me. ;)
And re: SP Times "running with it"...they've already run a headline....that's their story and they'll probably stick with it....few people admit they're wrong and spend enormous amounts of energy defending a prior conclusion, rather than simply re-assessing...has to do with the ego and our identification with and investment in it.
  16. AnotherMrPink Member

Re: Clearwater PD files on Kyle Brennan's death

true. I wasn't suggesting reopening either, but thats the only thing that would fill in the holes or the misses, or reveal the mistakes.

wait, im dumb....a civil court case could reveal all this too. Go Kyle's Mom!

Re: Clearwater PD files on Kyle Brennan's death

For me it would be after the first, and certainly before pulling the trigger.
The overwhelming human instinct to live makes most forms of suicide inherently prone to failure.
Head shooting usually works, but even that, the survival instinct takes over and messes up your aim.
Perhaps the closer one is to death the more precious life seems to become.

Re: Clearwater PD files on Kyle Brennan's death

So subgenius...would you say man has an instinct to survive and continue existing?
  19. Herro Member

Re: Clearwater PD files on Kyle Brennan's death

Interesting stuff, but just wanted to point out that the police report doesn't say there aren't any prints on the gun, just that they couldn't find anything usable- which is not unusual with firearms and bullets considering they often have curved and textured surfaces.

wow ..only had time for a quick read thro' - already some staggering inconsistancies in the statements of gerry and denise gentile p42 gerry refers to "we" stayed - suposed to be alone also claims to have left tom at the suicide scene after about 30 mins - but according to denise - gerry drove tom back to their house that night around page 72 - also gerry claims to have made the call to kyle mother from the suicide scene - denise implies he was asked to do that after they got back .. i cannot go thro this in detail right now so if other anons can take a look might be worthwhile

Undoubtedly the hundreds of eyes scanning the dox will find stuff. That's why I suggested a place (thread?) for listing:
    1. Inconsistencies.
    2. Strange things.
    3. Things that smell (need further investigation).
    4. Add your own.
And when/if you do find stuff, please give a citation including which doc it came from.
This might be as good a place as any I spose.
    Do it.

    ^^NO. DON"T DO IT> SAVE YOURSELVES....AAAHHhhhhhhnnghghpl*nk^^

The mpg on this deal just keeps going down.

    So. Read clamtastic Brennan zip/pdfs.
    Short of it:
"THIS is why we can't have nice things." Ever.
    Nothing there.

    The Long.
All the civilians in this deal deserve each other.
Only fun to be had in all of it is when dear, sweet Denise &
her lawyer charm Det. Bohling. And a fine time was had
    by all.

Best info to be had is in the hideously TL/Read
    "page one includes statements.pdf"
    <page 47>
Det Bohling: "Okay. I gotcha." pun, works 2 ways...
Turns out G. Gentile's 6yo daughter is the cause of all the
comedy on Kyle's computer. oh, that little scamp.

    <page 57> bottom and onto <58>
    [ SWEET interview tech:
"Now that I'm done with my questions...do you have any you
would like to ask me?" heh

Correct Response: "Why no, detective. I believe I'll be going now.
I'd like to thank you for this wonderful experience and wish you
all the best in your continuing investigation. Best to the wife and kids."

    G. Gentile(idiot): I mean, have you guys gone through the laptop?
Is there anything you're concerned about?
<dance continues> Mostly inconclusive. I'm not buyin'. ymmv

The Denise G. interview is interesting. If you're going to try and
read it watch for the turn where Det B has long questions and
DG has short answers (then) Det B has short Qs and DG has
long A's. (heh) <page 72> couple of 'um's and 'like'.
Cross ref to "VLB TYPED CHRONOLOGY AND LETTER TO LUKE.pdf"
Same conversation. (Feb8th ?). This one mentions the Narcanon
    crap and DG scam.
Conclusion: She skated. Good luck on the depo.

Let's just skippity-do-dah to the end. Poor Kyle is dead. Troubled
kid needed help and every time he got close some stupid thing
or person deflected or defeated him. Sad. Sad enough for words.
    Play on lawsuit. Play on.

& TD. You got a 'personal' problem with sweet, cuddly Denise?
or you just don't like snakes much?
    which/what? just askin'

Re: Clearwater PD files on Kyle Brennan's death

Actually that was not THAT suspicious it fits the pattern for suicide. Right handed person three shots up the body on the left side not hard with a semi automatic.

It was 10/22 that does not do a lot of damage to humans (used for rabbits I understand)

so when the first three shots didn't kill her she shot herself in the head.

A 1022 wouldn't be a first choice murder weapon and it WAS a riffle but they come in several versions some of them very small and fold up to kind of look like an UZI.

The question is what made Flo Barnette want kill herself... DM as a son in law ??

Re: Clearwater PD files on Kyle Brennan's death

Oh, come on! I can't believe you asked that. If you have a revolver and a pile of bullets, you LOAD the thing. You don't put ONE in and "hope" you line up the chamber with the one shot. What if the first one doesn't do the job? Or you miss? You might want another bullet. Geez, he wasn't playing Russian Roulette! Crikey!

I know someone who survived a suicide headshot wound (single shot that went thru the brain with a .38 revolver), and I was told that apparently more people survive than Hollywood movies would have you believe.

Re: Clearwater PD files on Kyle Brennan's death

I'd like to see the photo of the writing on Kyle's chest to see if it is consistent with being written on by the boy or by someone else. The angels and stroke of the writing may indicate someone else wrote it rather than Kyle.

Remember no one has been tried for murder so double jeopardy doesn't apply.

Old 357. 5 chambers in cylinder. 357 was a new round with pressures much
higher than the standard .38. 5 vice 6 chambers in cylinder for greater
    strength. .44 mag. same/same.

"no ridge detail" Cartridges, neh. Should have been 'something' on the
rear frame between the grips. If it had Pachmayr type, neh.

There is no case here. This lawsuit is doomed to fail.

Re: Clearwater PD files on Kyle Brennan's death

She could just be suing for answers. To find out what really happened so she can know what it was like for him the last few days. She is giving away $2k gold chains to her kid for his coin collection I don't think she wants money.

Case is not trying to prove murder as someone pointed out to me on another thread it is saying that people didn't act in the right way around him.

But you may still be right.
    --
Also there may have only been 5 bullets to load the gun with. if there was no prints on the bullets it is not that strange depending on how he loaded it. non on the gun or other things starts to get strange if that is really the case.
