Dementia is terminal. There is no cure. Plaque and tangles build within the brain until it stops the body from functioning completely. Parkinson's is a form of dementia. Jsut because it's rarely listed as the cause of death does NOT mean it's not terminal, most people die due to a complication of their dementia like pneumonia from aspirating food and water because their brain can no longer remember how to swallow.

But thank you for insinuating that people in Kerri's position, like I was, and many others on here, are murderers. I cannot wait for you to be in my shoes, because you will if you know anyone over age 50. And it's going to be ugly and gruesome and your heart will be ripped from your chest in more ways than you could ever imagine. And on that day when your loved one no longer has any hope of living, you too will become a "murderer".

Get your fucking facts straight before you start running your mouth on shit you don't understand,

Also, if Kerri does have a cunning plan, she wouldn't want the public opinion blowback of not handing over the body. She's already tried to paint Jean as a body snatcher because Jean supposedly broke an agreement that Kerri never signed. Awkward if it comes back on her.

Next step will be the funeral. Very awkward! If Jean refuses to let them attend, it's going to hurt her. Likewise if Kerri attends and makes a scene or tries to hijack the event, it'll hurt her.

As expected, Scientologist Kerri Kasem unleashes Scientology Fair Game and Black PR on Casey Kasem's widow, complete with private investigators and Scientologist lawyers, one day after her father dies. The body is hardly cold yet. Goal 1: Get that money! Goal 2: harass and utterly destroy target. This is what it was all about from the get go.

It's hard enough to ask for withdrawal of the invasive measures that you know is not what they wanted without all these accusations. Watching the last breath, I was still thinking NO maybe we should try a little longer and they will get better. This situation was not helped by the Dr. , who said he had had 90 year olds walk about of the hospital following septic shock. He was boasting of his medical prowess. Not helpful.
BTW the last breath was preceded with many breaths we thought was the last. It got to be funny.

    Speaking personally
I found it easier to say to my dad "You better be leaving ME your tools in your will (despite knowing there was no will or anything to actually fight over) and not the males in the family. At least I know how and will use them" than to say to him "it's ok to just let go and die"

Nor do I know that when it came to it my mam did not put a pillow over his face until he did die!
    And if she did?
    Then I applaud her!
I didn't have the guts or the compassion to do it for him!
And I know IF she did it, she didn't do it for herself.
I saw what she went thru in the years before he died, the toll it took on her (that she never complained about) and how lost she was after he died!

    Have a hug(is that allowed?)

It IS a bastard situation! (But helpful to find the lols)

And really hard to decide/discern what is what they want and what is just you not being ready to say goodbye/sayonara. Especially when head says one thing and heart says another!

Cheyne-Stokes, ftw. It's especially hard if you've never seen it before. I'm sorry that Dr. wasn't more helpful. I hope someone else there was.

Legal dox including the 2007 and 2011 health directives.
    http://documents.latimes.com/order-filed-regarding-casey-kasems-health/

The 2007 agreement has Casey's signature on each page, and witnessed by notary Christa Quinteros. Jean claimed shenanigans. *shrug* No Scientology hits for Christa Quinteros in a brief search. Comparing the signatures on both agreements, the K seems different, but Lewy Body, so who can say? A third validated signature might help.

Casey Kasem’s final dedication supplied by Scientology

    By Tony Ortega

Casey Kasem’s children held a private memorial service for him on Saturday, and a few news outlets wrote about it, noting that selections from the famous deejay’s American Top 40 show were played as a fitting testament.

Also mentioned, generally without comment, was that Kerri Kasem had a man named David Campbell perform some kind of musical tribute at the service.

What those stories didn’t mention is that Campbell is the Scientologist father of musician Beck.

    Nice job, Kerri!

Casey Kasem: Body Missing | TMZ

Casey Kasem has been dead for more than a month, yet he's not been buried and now we've learned his body is missing.

Fingers now point in the direction of Casey's widow, Jean. Family sources say Jean took the body from a funeral home the day before a judge ordered her to keep it there so an autopsy could be performed.

The autopsy is crucial to an ongoing criminal investigation targeting Jean. The Santa Monica PD is looking into elder abuse allegations that Jean took Casey on a wild, week-long multi-state car ride which caused him to develop bed sores that got infected and contributed to his death.

Jean and Casey's children have been at war for years.

As for where the body is, no one but Jean seems to know, and no one can find her either. It's interesting Jean listed Jerusalem as her address on Casey's death certificate.

Casey's daughter Kerri believes Jean is out of the country.

We reached out to Jean's people. So far no word back.

Radio star Casey Kasem’s remains sent to Montreal, funeral home confirms

The head of a Washington state funeral home that had initial responsibility for radio personality Casey Kasem says he personally made sure his remains were put on a flight to Montreal last Monday.

Corey Gaffney, the president of Gaffney Funeral Home of Tacoma, says he confirmed the remains arrived in Montreal and media reports suggesting they have disappeared are not true.

Kerri said that she heard the Jean was going to do an autopsy, wanted one of her own, and got a court to order a freeze until they worked out who was going to do it. And then when it turned out that Jean had moved the body the day before, Kerri was all butthurt and cranked up the PR engines.

Not sure what Jean is doing, not sure that Jean is sure what Jean is doing, but was legal for her to do it.

Meanwhile, the police were eating donuts rather than getting an order to the funeral home sometime in the last month to keep the body put until they decide if they want an autopsy too. (Who wants a piece of Casey?)

    Death certificate.

Until there was an actual death certificate, with lots and lots of proper legal copies (plain photocopies won't do), the insurance company, with the $2M life insurance policy to be split between all four kids, wouldn't pay out. Kerri and her regs have probably been bouncing off the walls and going completely bat-shit in the last month trying to get a death certificate to get their hands on that $500,000 share.

(According to Jean, Kerri was pestering the funeral home right after his death for a copy.)

Casey Kasem's Widow: Jean Dropped by Her Attorneys, You Owe Us $500,000! | TMZ

Jean Kasem just made another enemy. Her attorneys are cutting her off, claiming she's a pain in the ass client who also happens to owe them a ton of cash.

According to documents filed in Casey Kasem's conservatorship, attorneys at Haney & Young are asking the court to relieve them as counsel for Jean, ASAP.

The lawyers claim Jean rarely responds to their emails and refuses to communicate by phone, and worst of all, she's racked up $500,000 in unpaid fees during her various legal battles.

In a letter to Jean, the firm says if she doesn't pay up, the money's gonna come out of Casey's estate.

    Casey Kasem's Son on Corpse-Moving, Meat-Hurling Widow Jean Kasem: 'She's Bat-Shit Crazy'

Casey Kasem's widow moved his remains from Tacoma, Washington to Canada, sources say, and his son offers a litany of her demented behavior and his low opinion of her alleged love for his father.

    Excerpt:

Mike Kasem also poses 10 questions regarding the sincerity of his stepmother's love for his father: "If she loved him, then where was she at the end of his life when we reached out to have her by his side? Why would she leave his remains for weeks before making a move? Why would she recite scripture while hurling raw hamburger meat at my sister? Why would she cut him off from everyone he loves, friends included — are we all assholes? Why would she rip him out of a care facility at 2 a.m. against doctors' orders to take him on a road trip he is not equipped to handle? Why would she list their residence on the death certificate for the last 18 years as 'Jerusalem, Israel'? Why would she play actress, fall to the floor in front of cameras outside the courtroom, screaming, 'They have blood on their hands,' and then go hang out with her boyfriend? Or tell a judge he's incompetent? Why would she call a nurse at the hospital a fat-ass? Why wouldn't she ask the doctors why we took him off life support? Because your husband was choking on his own fluids! Which you would have known if you had cared to be there or inquire! Pattern much? Would anyone care for some nuts? I've had too much over the last 30 years, no thanks."

Prolly something about walking through the valley of death.

A repeat performance on the today show, complete with meat throwing, would be something I'd pay to see!
  37. DeathHamster Member

I'd like to see what happened before the meat throwing, away from the media circus. Jean probably is more than a little mentally wobbly, but wouldn't be surprised if there was some button-pushing going on off-camera.
