Casey Kasem Family Feud - Scientology Related?

Discussion in 'Celebrity News' started by ChurchOfCylontology, Jun 2, 2014.

  1. I just saw a few comments in this Gawker story about Kasem's cray-cray wife throwing meat at Kerri Kasem while moving her invalid father to a medical facility.

    http://gawker.com/heres-video-of-casey-kasems-wifes-biblical-raw-meat-att-1585002552/all

I only see two completions for her in 2011:

Kerri Kasem in Scientology's Published Service Completion Lists

The following 2 individual completions for Kerri Kasem appear in official Scientology publications:
Kerri Kasem THE WAY TO HAPPINESS COURSE Freewinds 84 2011-05-01
Kerri Kasem THE WAY TO HAPPINESS COURSE Freewinds 85 2011-08-01

Does anyone know if she's still an active clam? Kasem's wife is a nutjob but putting Kasem in the hands of a Scientologist is a certain death.

  3. I used to work for a catering company Linda Kasem (Kerri's mom) hired occasionally. In the parlance of cooks we peons called her 'Linda No-Nuts' (sometimes 'no berries') because we couldn't use nuts, berries, or nut oils in the food.

    Is she a sci too?

Wife didn't want to, but a California court decided otherwise.

She says Kasem never wanted to be in the hands of his daughters because Scientology. (She might still be a nutjob.)

I think they're both nuts jobs. There was a scilon mention on the daughters side, and from the meat flinging, Bible reference, sounds like the wife is a little zealous based also. Feel sorry for Casey, because he can't talk and tell them both to fuck off. Nobody wins in this mess. Look at Andy Rooney's estate fight that blew up after he died. Famiies go nuts when money is involved. Both wife and daughter have enough reason to dispute the claims of the other, could be money, could be 'religious', could be love. But the scent of scilon on anybody immediately makes me suspicious when there's cash to be had.

  6. Casey has been married to Jean for 34 years. Casey's kids from his first Arabic wife have borrowed hundreds of thousands of dollars from him. Casey cut them off in 2007 when they joined the Scientology. cult. The kids did not come around after that until Casey was about to die and they found out he cut them out of the will BECAUSE he did not want the cult to get his money. Kerri Kasem's "love" for her Dad is a money grab, pure and simple. You might act irrationally too if you the a group of cult members picketing your house every day. If the Kasem kids really cared about their father, they would leave him alone and give him some piece and privacy. Who wants a bunch of gawkers around watching you die?

No shit eh,. even if that is only partly true I couldn't blame the ol' dying fart for sticking his social finger up his culty relatives noses, fuck them from what I are read. Ptbthth.

Casey Kasem's wife fights back in court papers

Casey Kasem's wife fought back as promised.

On Wednesday Jean Kasem filed court papers in Washington that include a Church of Scientology's members list from an entertainment site, an affidavit showing Casey Kasem's financial gifts to his daughter, and a letter from a physician disputing that his condition has worsened since he left Los Angeles.

For a year, Jean Kasem, 59, has been fighting her husband's children from a previous marriage and his other relatives over his medical care and condition. The family says Jean Kasem suddenly shut them out and wouldn't return their phone calls or allow them to see the ailing radio icon. Although Jean Kasem still hasn't explained why she has kept her husband from his family, she has accused his children of wanting his $80-million fortune.

Specifically, Jean Kasem has said that Kerri Kasem, 41, who has been assigned to be her father's healthcare conservator by a judge, wants to donate his fortune to the Church of Scientology. Kerri Kasem has denied being a member of that church — the documents submitted in Kitsap Superior Court on Wednesday include an entertainment site's unverified roster of celebrity Scientologists that includes Kerri Kasem.

The court filing also accuses Kerri Kasem of owing Casey and Jean Kasem $1.3 million. An in-house accountant for the former "Cheers" actress estimates that Casey Kasem has loaned Kerri Kasem over $630,000 since she turned 18, and that less than 15 percent of that money would be considered gifts.

On Wednesday, Kerri Kasem told NBC News that she considers the claims "defamation of character." She vehemently denied borrowing money from her father and said that her "bank account is an open book to the court." Kerri Kasem says she has studied several religions, including Scientology and Buddhism.

"I've studied many religions and Jean will of course find the most controversial one and use it against me," she said.

Casey Kasem’s Wife Drags Scientology into Her World of Madness | Mediaite

    By Tina Nguyen

As if this couldn’t get any worse: Jean Kasem, the wife of radio legend Casey Kasem and star hamburger pitcher, is not only suing his children, but claiming that his daughter Kerri wants to donate Kasem’s $80 million fortune to the Church of Scientology. (This is the only time we’ll say it: those poor Scientologists.)

At the heart of this messy drama is the fact that Kasem, 82, suffers from Lewy body dementia, meaning that he can neither speak nor take care of himself. Initially, he was left in his wife’s custody, and she then disappeared with her husband to the chagrin of his children, who reported him missing. Eventually, he was found in the state of Washington, and a judge granted Kerri custody. (That’s what led to the hamburger thing.)

So to prove that she should have custody of Kasem, Jean alleged that Kerri 1) owed her family $1.3 million and never paid it back, and 2) was actually one of those damn dirty Scientologists, who wanted to throw the family’s money into the pit of Xenu. However, the documents she used to back up her claims were rather dubious: one of them was a third-rate celebrity website which claimed Kerri was a member of the church.

Jean Kasem may be screwy and nutty, but I think she deserves kudos for fighting to keep her husband's money out of the hands of the cult of Scientology. Even if Scientology was not a factor in this, she is his wife of 34 years and that has legal implications as she is next of kin - not his children. I wonder where these children have been for the last 10+ years when their Dad's adult diaper needed to be changed? Or he needed to be bathed, clothed, and fed? Or was up in the middle of night needing care? Nowhere to be found probably (except maybe at their local org kissing DM's ass). Yes, the money will go to Jean eventually (you know they will contest the will after he dies), just like it has a million times over when a husband pre-deceases his wife. Jean is fighting back for this reason, too, of course like any spouse would.

I think Jean is going to have major trouble with the daughter, ragardless of Casey alive or dead. Daughter has salivating scilons behind her.. Jean has marriage license, and a will. But by the time she's done fighting it in court, the money will be gone, and then the daughter will drop it because there will be nothing left to get. That's why I said, Jean is screwed. If she doesn't fight it, she loses. If she does, they will drain her financially, she loses. I fully believe the daughter has Scilon ties... and is now sniffing around the pot of gold. But showing teh crazy around the entertainment media will not help Jean (meat tossing, Bible quoting). It just gives the daughter opportunity to debate religions. WE know better, but most people unfamiliar with this fight will just say "ones religious preferences is no differen than the other's."

No matter what happens, idiot scilon reasoning will make this a total heartless fiasco, not considering the wishes of Casey or respect the marriage, or leave Jean alone with her husband without first making Casey's last days a living hell for them all.

Scientology is always worse than it appears publically, they are sneaky, greedy, and dishonest, and they are all taught to think that way. The daughter is no different. I am sure she loves her father (s money) and she may be well intentioned. But her track record is suspect enough that I don't believe her at face value in this. She has the taint. Whether or not she is a "member", her statement of having "studied many religions," is such a familiar disclaimer, it's all clam. Jean will run out of resources if the daughter has COS backing.

One thing is for sure... when COS is involved.. everybody loses... always.

My question to the daughter is, if it isn't prompted by CoS, why now, after all the years, is it so important to gain access to the father she virtually ignored for years?

I wonder if intervening through the courts over his medical care, somehow bolsters a future challenge to the will, maybe its a strategy shes utilising for this.

Casey Kasem's children hope family will put aside dispute in his last moments | CNN

As the battle surrounding Casey Kasem brought his relatives into the courtroom again Friday, the iconic radio host's health is declining, and his family is preparing to say goodbye.

Kasem "won't be with us much longer," said Danny Deraney, the rep for the "American Top 40" host's daughter, Kerri Kasem.

His family is gathering at St. Anthony Hospital in Washington, where the ailing 82-year-old was in critical condition as of Thursday, according to the hospital.

His son, Mike Kasem, traveled from Singaporeto be with his father, and Kasem'sbrother flew in from Detroit. Kasem suffers from Lewy body dementia, which has no cure.

Kasem's children from his first marriage hope the family will look past their dispute during his last moments. They want him to be surrounded by loved ones, including their stepmother and half-sister, Jean and Liberty Kasem.

    Bah, what a muddle!

I noticed the detail that Jean Kasem had hired a motorcycle club for security to keep Kerri away from the house while Casey was still there. Now, that could either be the "Jean is cray-cray" theory or it could be the "But Scientology!" one in that Kerri was being extremely unpleasantly persistent at trying to get in. (Sort of like regs who barge in in the middle of the night and won't leave until they get the money.) Worried about Scientology hooks into security companies, she might have turned to a motorcycle club instead.

After Casey was transferred to Berkeley East Convalescent Hospital in LA, Kerri managed to gate-crash at night "a few hours" before 2:30am, presumably against Jean's orders that she be kept out. And so the quick road-trip to get away from Kerri.

Kerri's sensational account of the road-trip with no independent corroboration:
    http://www.nbcnews.com/pop-culture/...harrowing-five-day-road-trip-revealed-n124821
She says that Jean was feeding Casey "Ensure through his feeding tube". How does Kerri know that detail? According to her, there was just Jean and Casey. Her story smells of media manipulation.

Making sense of this is like a jigsaw puzzle with half the pieces missing.

Martha Patterson seems to be Martha Jo Patterson, apparently a top-notch elder law attorney. No obvious connection with Scientology. (The "ordered by his doctors, not by her client" is a little shifty, but lawyer shifty.)

Definite Scientology hit on Troy Martin. Oh. Dear.

See, if Scientology really had an Operation Top 40 going to try to grab the estate, they'd be certain to have someone in the lawyers that they could count on.
