    Canberra Protest

Anyone up for a protest in Canberra at the scientology church in Civic sometime in December or January?

Is there really anything left to raid at Canberra org?

    Re: Canberra Protest

Last I heard they had two staff, that was it. Though a friend said he saw three people at a stress test booth there (that was around August).
  5. Re: Canberra Protest

    Yup. That's pretty much it.

I think the whole idea of protesting in Canberra was to raise awareness among the politicians.

    Re: Canberra Protest

We'll set up a time and notify the AFP, provided there is sufficient interest. I say that because interest was pretty thin on the ground after the first couple raids we had this year. My husband and I aren't going to go to any trouble if nobody makes the effort to show up.

And no, there's nothing much left of Canberra org. According to the ex-Scn grapevine, they have two staff members, one of whom works full-time so the org can pay its rent. Yup, that's how shit they're doing here in town. They can't even make the grand amount of $250 to cover their weekly rent.

Fatty - did your friend say where he saw the stress test booth?

    Re: Canberra Protest

Generally Saturdays are much easier for people to organise due to work and so on.

But I'm not a Canberra Anon, so I dunno how you guys roll.

    Re: Canberra Protest

well since it's in civic most people work near there or there if it gets organized for 4 or 5 pm we should get a fair few people as well as people going home on the buses. i don't know, just a thought.

    Re: Canberra Protest

Saturdays are a good day for catching the shopping crowds. Hassling people as they make their way home at the end of the week is a great way of being told where you can stick your flyers. People are more relaxed and willing to chat on weekends.

Ah. Canberra. A beautiful city, especially when viewed at night from the dining room of the Red Hill Lookout (is it still there? It's been more than 30 years! Never mind. Just Googled it. Fond memories come flowing back...)

Do it when you can, as often as you can. Keep the $250 (AUS) from flowing so they must close. Make the capitol of my second home clam free.

    Re: Canberra Protest

    Ok, 29th?

I see we still need a start time. I suggest we start at 11am and go until we get the urge to get a taco. That's happened around 3pm in the past.
