interesting. If the actions of these credit card companies did in fact violate commerce laws, this should be a pretty solid legal complaint.
I can't really see the sense in restricting clients' money "to preserve the corporate brand." They're in the business of holding our money. They don't get to choose how we spend it.
Their decision was based upon the same reason some people were angered by their action. They didn't want to be seen as tacitly supporting Wikileaks for the same reason that many saw their actions to be a tacit condemnation of wikileaks.
And really they don't hold your money. They provide credit. What is at issue is whether they breached existing laws or agreements by their actions.

All visa & mastercard did by restricting funds to WL was make themselves look bad IMHO, & now their facing legal trouble for it? Good, I hope WL wins the case.
Forbes says Visa, Mastercard and AmEx have caved and are allowing donations to Wikileaks through an alternate processor (DataCell), at least for now:
