Big List of over 1500 Exes Who Have Spoken Out

The following list of names - The Big List - was commenced on 26 June 2009*. As of today, June 21, 2011, the list has exceeded 1500 names.

The Big List includes only former members who have spoken out against the Church of Scientology's crimes and abuses in their own names, not using a pseudonym. The list includes people who still consider themselves Scientologists and people who do not. Many of the people named spoke out first years, even decades, ago. Many others spoke out for the first time in the last few weeks and months. Every person on the list has given a great gift to others. Together, their voices cannot ever be silenced.

To those who are still in: realize that all of these people have left, and you can too. There are thousands more who left, and have not come forward to tell their story yet. And there are also hundreds more who have spoken out, but who did not want their names known. We hope that the courage of those named here empowers more people to come forward with their stories of abuse, and ultimately prevents such abuses from ever taking place again.

The following, is a list of former members that have left the church of Scientology and have spoken out against Scientology.

All new names, links and additonal info can be listed in this thread and then moved over to the wiki only.
Or added directly to the Wiki as long as they have been CONFRIMED.

All people are welcomed to update the wiki.
If you do not want to do the wiki, you can submit new names and info here.
Only real names will be counted. No knick names or pseduo names allowed.
This keeps the list credible.
We are not going to include critic's names.

All names must have proof that they have spoken out. An interview, a testimony, publicly, attended a protest, books written, articles, or openly left a comment on a forum or website or what have you. (please provide dox)
Also include how long they were in the church, the area, and their position would be VERY helpful!

As it is fresh, RightOn can now edit the first two posts in the new thread, to update the list of names. (She hasn't been able to do that in the old thread for some months, due to the forum settings.)

So, I'm thinking, I'll stick the new thread and unstick the old one, make sure there are cross-references in both the OP's and then close the old one.

As long as it remains a thread to post research and names to be added to the Wiki correct? But will this casuse any kind of misdirection when people search it?

And I think the title has to be changed. The word Ex's has to be taken out. Or would that cause too much of a misdirect too? HALP!
There are too many people on the list who are still Scientologists. To make all groups happy, the title has to be changed.

I met Stephen in 1972. We were both in Scienology at the time. He used to play at the Celebrity Center for the Church of Scientology. I remember, in particular, a song of his “Carolina” that he used to sing for me. He teamed up to play guitar with a fantastic musician named Mike Mallen. Stephen was a sensitive soul. I lost touch with him after I left Scientology. I often wondered what happened to him. Funny thing, when I met him he had a little tiny dog tucked in his coat jacket close to his chest. He did love animals, that’s for sure. I always felt that the only way he could really let out his true feelings was through his music. Boy, I wish I had a copy of that album. I do fondly remember my experiences with him. He always reminded me of a male Joni Mitchell. Anyway — sorry to ramble. Peace.

My intention is to get across the perspective that I am coming from when I say that Integral Institute does not have significant cult dangers. When I left Scientology I was continually contacted by phone and mail with threats and coercions to come back to the Church. I imagine you heard of the term “fair game,” which L. Ron Hubbard had instituted to describe how anyone who leaves Scientology may be harassed in all kinds of ways in order to incapacitate the person from ever harming Scientology. The fear factor of leaving Scientology, much less writing and talking openly about Scientology, is inculcated in people with intensive training by the Scientology organization.

The stories told by these ex members are nearly identical to the revelations made recently by former members speaking out against the Scientology in highly visible stories in the New York Times, the St. Petersburg Times and most recently on Anderson Cooper 360 on CNN.

According to the Church of Scientology, these former members are "liars" and "apostates" with an agenda to destroy the church. Anonymous wonders Scientology will call all 1000 of these former members liars too?

(Suggested idea for some extra language that adds timeliness and relevance to the issue. I'm not a great writefag, so one of you good ones clean that up please.)
