It's not Autism it's Kawasaki's syndrome. Too much carpet munching cleaning going on at the Travolta complex.
Autism is usually first noticed around 18 months of age because there are three main factors to look for and with all three factors it's difficult to notice until the child is older. Perhaps Ben is exhibiting one or two of the factors and they're worried that it could be autism. It could also just be developmental delays or the fact that babies just don't perform on cue. One of the major things to look for with an autistic child is that they'll start learning words and then they lose them and communication becomes difficult if not impossible. Ben Travolta is 8 months old so he's probably only starting to crawl and can hopefully say words like dada and mama.

WHat was the age of the parents at birth? If there is anything I learned from trolling Chris Chan, one theory which support's Chris's condition is the age of the parents. But I have no actual info about Autism. So I just got hearsay. In any case, that would be great if this son had autism to! That's another screwed up case that Might Shake Travolta's conviction in the theory of "full grown thetans in little bodies"
yes, altho i dont know "official diagnosis" aspects in this day & age... distant cousins in my family adopted a child from an under-privileged country in early-to-mid 1990's that was 14-16months old. it was known at the time of adoption the baby would have development issues. by age 4 they were unofficially certain it was some form autism and it was readily apparent about year before that - when the crawling stage seem to stall and full speed crawl was never quite reached. but at the time, they couldnt official diagnose it until age 5-6. that diagnosis did indeed pan out to be a form autism, but since the parents were fully prepared for it and began dealing with before an official medical diagnosis was obtained - by age 10 the child was mainstreamed into regular schools. since that time, i've heard (altho i dont pay alot attention) there has been huge advances & leaps made with autistic children. what was a considered nearly a miracle with the adopted child for late 1990's is now commonplace. So there is absolutely no excuse for the Travoltas NOT to have a mainstreamed austic child if they deal with it now. Here's praying they learned their lesson with Jett and dont ignore it this time if this is true.

Really, if we are going to make fun of people who don't have autism, not making fun of people with autism is kind of exclusionary.
One of the first signs of autism is an inability to participate in joint attention (pointing at items of interest to engage another person, for instance). That normally happens pretty early. Ben is at high risk for autism because of his brother's diagnosis, so undoubtedly his parents are being vigilant--especially after Jett's death.

Yeah Autism takes some time to diagnose even though you hear about it more and more alot of people still don't seem to know about it or what exactly it is (my cousins case and that of a friend's son it took years) They started noticing something was off when she was a toddler. She was having issues with food textures(there were very few things she would eat) and communication. I think she was about 5 before they finally had a proper diagnosis of Asperger's Syndrome. As for the friend's son he was about 9 and always had problems that she would vent to me about(disruptions at school, tantrums and fits when faced with the slightest change to plans or routines, always feeling like her son wasn't fully paying attention or grasping situations etc) She had never heard of autism but to me it sounded like he had a lot of classic signs so I suggested it to her. She ended up pressing the issue with her sons pediatrician who referred her and he was later diagnosed with autism. Of course celebrities would be far less likely to have something wrong with their kid that goes undiagnosed
My schadenfreude is centered on Mr. and Mrs. Travolta's incompetent at-cause-ness, not the kid missing his developmental milestones (presumably). I have a strong suspicion that the CoS' handling of the Travoltas after Jett's birth is a major factor in the anti-vax culture that sprang up in the autism world in the 1990s. Of course, they weren't the only Scientologists having kids with obvious psychiatric disorders --which shouldn't happen if Scientology is true and mental illness is just lies invented by the evil psychs. Babies make weird faces all the time. He looks like he is getting ready to sneeze or the lights were too bright. What paper was this and what did the article say? Can't trust those rags. Certainly eye brows were raised due to the age of Preston giving birth at such an old age and previously having an austistic child, but jeepers, this is a really cruel article if it is not true.
ahhhh well they were right when they exposed the Bahama police report where it said that Travolta told the police that Jett was austistc. But this sounds like a whole lotta speculation, and implying autism with that picture is just stupid. off topic.... I always thought Jett was named after jets 'cause Travolta flies planes, but I read somewhere last week( i think on an indie site) that Travolta named his son Jett after a charachter from one of LRH's books? I can't remember the damn last name of the charachter now, I think it started with an "n"
