    Beat the Heat!

With June just about here, every protest in the northern hemisphere should already be feeling that summer heat. It's important for Anonymous to stay cool and stay hydrated, and I noticed that the thread I had created one year ago on the old forums did not survive to WWP.

    1) Drink water. Gatorade and other sports drinks are also okay, but water is the best way to stay hydrated. If you're feeling thirsty, you need to start drinking right away.

    2) Eat your breakfast and lunch. Food provides electrolytes, more than enough for daily activity. It also helps prevent you from feeling faint and light headed. All Anonymous need to be 100%!

    3) Consider a hatted "water Anon" who brings a case of water bottles instead of flyers/signs. They can make sure everyone has a drink handy and IS drinking. Straws are essential with masks, though Anons with Camelbaks are G2G.

    4) Sunscreen, hats, shades, other skin covering clothing is now about hiding from the sun AND from scilons. Look for loose fitting clothing, something breezy that will allow air to get through. Suitanons should use a white suit if they can. Baby powder will help soak up some sweat and prevent rashes, as will moisture wicking clothing.

    5) Watch each other. A hurting Anon is not helping the raid. We've three enemies from the heat, and they all go hand in hand. Hyperthermia, heat exhaustion, and dehydration. All Anons should google, learn the signs, learn the responses (IMO).

Trial and error is the best way to learn what works for you. Not wearing a suit may be the smartest move if you can't handle the heat (never stopped me, though). I find that 7-11 Slurpee straws work great with big bottles of water.

    Stay safe out there Anonymous.

I thought this was a thread about good masturbatory techniques until I re-read it and saw 'heat'.

Good advice. Always handy to be reminded of these things.

    Re: Beat the Heat!

We here in Phoenix, beat the heat by switching to late afternoon/night protests during the summer months. I am sure that most of you have seen our "lightbox" tech over the months, and I thank you all for your support.

The fun thing is we used to do a second night flier raid at a monthly art walk downtown known as "First Friday". The crowd was already very supportive of our anti-sci view and moderatly informed. Low and behold, the Scilons moved in on our home turf to take advantage of the high traffic art community who already loved us.

So we get to keep protesting at night, in a community who already knows us, with far more foot traffic to inform and share a laugh with. Win after Win after Win.

Be careful, though, guys. Too much water without enough salt to balance it out can cause hyponatremia, which has the exact same symptoms as dehydration. Just something to keep in mind.

Seriously? If you need a thread telling you to drink water when it's hot out, how have you not died yet?

    This.

Heat very much has the chance of totally fucking you up. As a nursing student with info about fluid and electrolyte balance jacked into her head by something akin to an ice pick (O SHIT, A DOMINICAN SISTER), I shall take over the task of protecting the Nashanons, woooooo. I'd be glad to give moar info to Anons regarding this enemy if they need it.

The DC org is right in the middle of many places to buy water, food and sports drinks within a short walk and yet some people still do not drink enough and get into trouble in the heat. Not all places are as lucky as us in that regard so reminding everyone once again to keep their fluid intake up is helpful IMHO.

    So STFU!

    Ditto x2 on the salt!
If you can't taste salt in yer sweat then you're probably running a bit low, so just about any source will suffice, peanuts, chips, salt tablets etc.
We needs about a gram a day in normal conditions, but when it gets all hot an' bothered this goes up significanltly, water is essential of course.

SP 50 sunscreen or higher, slather it on and don't be skeerd!

Oooo, we take plant misters to de beach to cool ya down, works great! (so does soaking hats) :)
Stay healthy All! (ya-ya, safe and smarts too!)

    Rock on Anons!

Wrap icecubes in wash cloth or towel or whatever and throw in a sealed plastic bag.

Nice and cool when yah need it. (Be sure to put it back in bag and seal when your done wiping your face), so it stays cold and wet.
This worked like a charm in DC!

You can also soak a bandanna in ice water and tie it around your neck.

Hand fans area also the bomb, especially ones that spray water.

Sticking you feet in cold water does the trick too.

You'd be surprised. See: Sandra Lee Semi-Homemade

Woman has a cooking show teaching people how to make boxed cake mixes and how to make soup using canned soup.

    Re: Beat the Heat!

Does this "water Anon" need a specific type of hat, or will any hat do?
  15. Tenebrous Member

    Re: Beat the Heat!

The hat has to be in the shape of a giant phalus with a tube that allows the water to be blasted from the center. Also, instead of water it must be milk. The summer heat will help to make it the proper consistency.

Preferably a beer hat, or one of those tri-corner hats with the feather in it.
