Is this true or just coincidence. http://www.bbc.co.uk/ It's all green now, and I'm pretty sure it wasn't that way yesterday.
CNN is still red / black / white when viewed on my Comcast basic cable channel. However, they are covering Iran in great detail.
I thought this was a little weird myself at first... you'd expect news networks to cling to the idea of neutrality and objectivity... however, that effort is precisely why CNN et al have failed in covering this. They're afraid Iran will deny them access in the future, and they want to appear impartial, so they're repeating the Gov't's lies, often unquestioned. It makes sense that one of the news networks would man up and try the opposite approach - and it makes sense that BBC would be the one, since (reportedly) IRAN is actively jamming their satellite, and seems to already regard them as an enemy. I have to imagine this sort of endorsement would be huge for the morale of those protesting. I hope the word gets to them.
BBC was blue some weeks ago but changed to green far before the Irangate They have not changed the color of their news page and the home-page has long been green. Apologies. In retrospect the Beeb would never align itself with one side in an ongoing story. I've removed the post. Link: http://andrewsullivan.theatlantic.com/the_daily_dish/2009/06/bbc-not-green.html
