Average to Quite Good Guardian article on Anon and Wikileaks

The UK Guardian's been very good at accurate coverage of Anon. This appeared in the newspaper yesterday as "Anonymous declares online war - from their bedrooms." Entertaining read:

    OH FFFFUUUUUUU-
ColdBlood is a douche, but still. I liked the article. Very good.
  4. re: Average to Quite Good Guardian article on Anon and Wikileaks

Good article, however the fact that the media are now turning towards Coldblood everytime they need Info on Anon is worrying me. Coldblood is becoming the UK face of Anon with all the interviews he's doing, which is exactly what we don't want I think. The whole point is that Anon has no leader or spokesperson, but Coldblood is rapidly becoming or trying to become one.

    noshi

with all the interviews he has done might be leading to more naughty and not nice

    Anonymous is a computer worm.

Coldblood has done interviews for the bbc and others for a long time. He is not becoming, he already was.

Too bad his nick isn't ColdBud. Then it would be lulzier when the party van comes calling.

Meh, he's not a leaderfag, like Gregg says he doesn't speak for Anonymous he just says what he observes. That said he sees only one aspect and interprets it according to his own beliefs and agenda. Anyone else want to redress the balance should pitch in with the BBC.

Bleh! It'll probably be another lame&annoying outgoing connection limit, again.
  10. re: Average to Quite Good Guardian article on Anon and Wikileaks

But only recently has Anon been getting so much newscoverage. Lots of people are now getting their first glimpse of Anon and what do they see...? A collective that claims to be anonymous and to have no leader, while at the same time a guy from the UK is speaking or trying to speak on behalf of that same collective.

Probably an update to their malicious software removal tool...

LOIC is very crude anyway, wouldn't use it even if I was intent on bringing down a web site.

I don't care about LOIC, I just hope it doesn't bugger up other (non-attack) stuff.

Simple solution: More of you step up to do interviews instead of whining.

    Problem solved.

Oh it's just that easy is it?

re: Average to Quite Good Guardian article on Anon and Wikileaks

Let's see. There was the London anon that did a couple of interviews for Al thingy and Channel 4, there have been a few threads on here asking for volunteers for interviews, and the same in various IRC channels. So yes, that easy.

I'd do an interview. If anyone is interested and approaches me for one.

If/when more show up this week (after the ones I already have setup,) I will be forwarding you some. Your way with words should help a lot.

How come TD hasn't done any interviews on this yet?

Ssssssshh! We don't want that to happen. He may reveal who our leaders are and how much we get paid by the drug companies.

Roland, have you ever gotten a check from them? I even wrote Pfizer once, no response. I'm beginning to think the whole "Big Pharma is paying you" is a lie...

Re: Average to Quite Good Guardian article on Anon and Wikileaks

i would do one if my face didn't look that ugly on TV(ok once tried to present a show on a local TV network for the fun of it and OMG i was scared by my face), and if french media was actually speaking about anons and wikileaks. So far, it's just about JA and cablegate. Anonymous was never mentioned to my knowledge.

So i guess i'll never do an interview and just realised i lost 2 minutes of my silly life to post the above shit:p

Re: Average to Quite Good Guardian article on Anon and Wikileaks

No, Tommy Davis, we all know he's our true leader. TinyDancer had that whole power struggle over the initals and Tommy won. He now runs, owns and commands Anon and using it to attack the US on Germany and China's behalf.
And he's controlled by the magic of Stonehenge that I utilise through the mysteries of Meatspin

I've always found them very reliable on subject like us and Wikileaks.

[EDIT] - I've now read it. It's good. Informed and largely neutral. I take quarrel with:

Re: Average to Quite Good Guardian article on Anon and Wikileaks

Guardian headlines are bitchier on the web! I read most of these in print and they were quite friendly.
  35. Re: Average to Quite Good Guardian article on Anon and Wikileaks

If you do an interview with the media, don't be an egofag with an attempt at a l33t haxx0r name.

Use David Mudkips, Richard C. Mongler, Anon or just be An Anonymous Spokesman*.

Don't stand out or try to be cool. Both are fail.

    *Rule 30 applies.
  36. Re: Average to Quite Good Guardian article on Anon and Wikileaks

Don't use spokesman, cuz you're never a spokesman for Anonymous.
  37. Re: Average to Quite Good Guardian article on Anon and Wikileaks

An anonymous spokesman is different from a spokesman for Anonymous.
  38. Re: Average to Quite Good Guardian article on Anon and Wikileaks

Then use anonymous spokesman and not Anonymous spokesman. The last one implies that you speak on behalf of Anonymous.
