If it's one thing that Scientology knows how to do well, that's to stay in the news...

Page after page after page of "scientology sucks"

Massive win folks, massive. The cult is a joke, it's demise is eminent. High OT levelers are blowing, all orgs are downstat, the media openly criticizes with absolutely no fear, all sci confront tech has been fail.

    The end is near.

They've trotted out John Travolta for recital #8 of "How scientology helped me get over Jett's death," so you know OSA's not been enjoying their weekend.

Re: AP: Ex-Scientology lawsuits reveal elite Sea Org group

I read the decision and found some interesting points that are probably relevant...

And, of course, the district court retains the flexibility to determine whether a religious institution’s designation of a person as a “minister” is mere subterfuge. See Tomic
    v. Catholic Diocese of Peoria, 442 F.3d 1036, 1039 (7th Cir.
    2006).

SO while a catholic priest in training is CLEARLY a minister.... the Sea Org while making crap?... I would love to get my hands on the case that is sited there.

I'm going to type this stream of consciousness style, because it worked for James Joyce, and I'm a little [strike]drunk[/strike] Irish. This is... People are bitching and moaning about the inaccuracies in the article, yet to be fair, these are quibbling things. Someone else ITT asked what type of Scientology stories made it on the front page of major media outlets in 2008. THIS is what we should remember. This is old hat to pretty much everyone here, from sad experience for an unlucky few. To Joe the Plumber and Sarah Palin's "Soccer moms with lipstick on their pig lips", this is new shit, and this is actually shocking... and the more this type of story comes out, the more they'll be angry, REAL angry. On that note, OH HAI TOMMY!!! Loved you on ABC. KSW!!! lol

I've added all the AP photos that go with the article together in the OP, with the original captions.

I've also had a nice cup of tea and a biscuit.

Re: Sci article on Fox news main page!

Wow! Maybe those rumors about Greta Van Susteren being on the way out are true!

Or maybe they just sense CoS is turning into a big story and they don't want CNN to get all the viewers.

Whatever the reason, this is a great sign. This story looks like it's going mainstream. I can't wait to see what happens when Mr. and Mrs. Middle America encounter Tommy Davis. Or Xenu. Or TR Bullbait.

Re: AP: Ex-Scientology lawsuits reveal elite Sea Org group

What is great about this story is Associated Press was allowed access to Tommy Davis and his staff at Gold Base to do a story,I think Tommy thought he was going to get a puff piece,
and use AP Newswire piece to deflect some of the upcoming CNN criticism..what he got instead was a Story about Marc Headley and his wife, Claire. and another extremely critical story on the cult.

Tommy is going to blow his proverbial Top when he reads this again..Tommy may get that RPF vacation hes been wanting shortly.

Not every rambling drunk Irishman is James Joyce.

Just because one man did something well does not proffer an excuse for every lazy cuss to mimic him poorly.

If you're going to play critic, learn to write first. That's the worst sentence I've seen in quite a while.

Revision: A man's success does not excuse the failures of his mimics.

Re: AP: Ex-Scientology lawsuits reveal elite Sea Org group

Oh well, at least I got a Tommy Davis joke in, and I was honest enough not to claim I was the first person ITT to mention some or all of it. The quote from earlier in the thread is below:

Every time I see articles on Scientology, especially on the front page of Yahoo and other MAJOR web sites, I get this mental image of a boxer who is clearly destroying his opponent and landing devastating blows with each punch, while the other boxer is waiting for the ref to put an end to his misery. I still remember being happy with mere scraps a year or more ago, whenever even small media outlets would cover something, ANYTHING, regarding the CoS. Yahoo, AP, Fox News, CNN, etc. weren't even a realistic dream at the beginning, except for the DDoS attack that was quickly (and rightfully) abandoned. I've been extremely hesitant to say this before, and I've flamed people for saying this in the past, but I think we're witnessing the endgame.

Re: AP: Ex-Scientology lawsuits reveal elite Sea Org group

Why is writing well a prerequisite for being offended? Did I make claims regarding my own prose? Have I invoked the name of any renowned literary figure?

Evidently you write better than you think.

The comma in your sentence is grammatically incorrect.

Hyperbole much? Or is mine the only forum post you've read?

FWIW, anyone can release a story on AP. The fee used to be $500 but it's probably higher now. So if you have extra moneyz burning a hole in your pocket, you can spend it on lulzy PR.

What a laugh. "Annie" with the initials of "AT" is probably Annie Tidman, formerly known as Annie Broeker, the person who was supposed to inherit the leadership of organized scientology after L. Ron died insane and drugged up. Davey Miscavige power pushed both she and her husband. I would say she has a strong, chronic case of Stockholm Syndrome. She will probably live out her life as a willing victim/co-perpetrator.
