John Carmichael smells all the new recruits and approves them

What is shown in Xander's videos falls within the statute.

Her lawyer wants to take on Scientology otherwise he'd never do this case for $4000, chump change for him.
  4. Anonymous Member

Exactly. Chump change to him. Probably financial devastation for AMA.
After she wins this case will she return to the street?
Does the cult win either way?
Lirot understands how the game is played and by not going pro bono he's already let the cult win.
  5. Anonymous Member

Unfortunately not everyone can (or will) do things 'pro bono'. Get some perspective on life and how it works, please.
  6. Anonymous Member

Yeah, they should totally make sock accounts to do it unless Dan Ackroyd is your real name.
  7. anonymous612 Member

Are you guys seriously complaining about how Lirot took the case? Because that would be like finding a chest of gold dubloons and complaining they're from Redbeard, not Blackbeard. It's a goddamn chest of gold dubloons.
Don't mean any disrespect, but to my knowledge you're neither a federal agent nor a legalfag so that's not really your call. We can e-lawyer all we want, it doesn't mean anyone should assume anything we say is correct.

Just read the plain words of the statute.
Sometimes you don't need to be a genius.

Jury selection will, indeed, be interesting. Alot has been said about the Casey Anthony jury (Pinellas County residents), the fact that they found her not guilty, and that they now live in fear because they're being threatened (one already quit her job & moved out of state). I suspect many prospective jurors will do all they can to prevent being seated on a jury for a trial involving Scientology.

And I would have thought they had nothing to fear from the most ethical people on the planet.

LOL. That belief is comparable to another group of people that went to war believing they were the master race. Look where it got them.

I agree. Lets start a new thread so "tell us exactly what happened doesn't show up again.
  24. DeathHamster Member

Maybe Scientology will request the trial be moved?

Good luck tomorrow AMA. I predict nothing but win for you from here on out. Wish I could be in court tomorrow to see the look on the judge's face when s/he sees a 33 year old security guard asking him/her to keep you 500 feet away from him. Good stuff.

So, just to make sure I'm up to date, the hearing tomorrow is about the restraining order being sought, right?
  33. details please where?
  34. Smurf Member

Go to the Civil Section of the courthouse and look for a docket of cases posted on the wall.... ask a guard if you don't see it.
  35. amaX Member

Hey, SP Forces! Tomorrow is a cattle call. I have to be there at 1:30PM, but we may be sitting there all afternoon waiting to see the judge. It's fine if you want to maybe sit all afternoon at the court house, but I'd rather have your support for the big trial which will have a set time. No, there's no court date for that yet.

Keith Henson tried to find people whose names were listed for his jury trial. Curiously, the few he found did not sit and were not called. Which brings to mind the fact that jurors don't have to show any ID to prove they are who they're supposed to be.

Scientology owns Riverside, and also Clearwater, so I would not be too surprised at shenanigans.

Yes, they do. "Your name was selected from the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles file. This file includes all licensed drivers and persons who possess a Florida Identification Card who are eighteen years old and older and reside in Pinellas County. This list is updated each quarter and is sent to the Clerk of the Circuit Court."

Yes. It is not the battery case.
  40. xenubarb Member

Are they required to actually show their ID card?
