This is brilliant. Tommy Davis giving an interview is the news reportage equivalent of a perpetually looped tape of a man stepping on a rake.

I've watched this 4 times today. It is my new porn.

Tommy Davis completely fucked up, and a video mashup of TD's interviews since Chanology started would clearly expose his lies in a powerful way. This report is absolute dynamite, and along with the NYT has dealt a death-blow to the cult. I cannot see how they can stop the walls from crumbling down, or prevent senate hearings, or eventually prevent law enforcement globally investigating the cult's dealings. There are too many exes speaking out (and much kudos to those brave enough).... There are too many news reports, blog posts...

And all the time, more people are blowing. More people are helping those who are still in escape...

I watched TD and from my own experience of 24 years in Scientology he gave a "spin" to his answers that made Scientology right despite its flagrant and unrepentant wrongnesses on virtually every point.

This was, in my considered opinion, a deliberate misinforming by Tommy Davis, of the TV public on a gross and irresponsible scale.

Yep very much agree. Hana was an incredibly good interviewee!

Also, while Today Tonight (Channel 7) has a far larger viewership than 4 corners - it's demographic is "middle Australia" - 4 Corners (along with most of the ABC's news and current affairs) has the "A's and B's" as their key demographic...professionals, tertiary educated AND politicians.

This came at an extremely good time.

Re: ABC's Four Corners - Scientology: The Ex-Files

The cult is able to operate as a "charity" in the UK while it has charitable status in Australia. It's a reciprocal Commonwealth arrangement. That's why it's so important that Xenophon and co. bust the cult in Australia.

They've done it before (Scamentology was banned in three states of Aus at one time) and they can do it again. If there's one thing the Australians don't like, it's sneaky little bastards that try to undermine the spirit of the law. I have high hopes that we'll see a major reversal for the Cult of Scientology in Australia this year.
  9. Re: ABC's Four Corners - Scientology: The Ex-Files

No, they don't, but the UK has a reciprocal agreement with commonwealth countries that affects taxes e.t.c.

Take them away in Aus, they lose them in the UK

Well Tommy Davis is the secret but official leader of Anonymous, infiltrating the Church of Scientology and securing a powerful position to ultimately destroy it from the inside through stupidity.

    We salute you, Tommy Davis!

Hana also shows up in this VERY GOOD program on Hubbard.

After miscavige blows with the money, while he won't be executed, he will be alone, and quite mad. Trapped in the real word where everyone hates him for all the right reasons. The end game has tommy losing as much or more than his master.

Tommy is so deep in his lies, his entire demeanor drips with evil these days. He is going to fall hard.

    Bring on the endgame!

comment from the ABC Nightline blog:

"ABC Nightline coverage was excellent, but IMO, it was just the tip of the iceberg. It's much worse than you think.

This cult gets away with its criminal activities by promoting that it is recognized as a "church" in the USA by the IRS. This is extremely embarrassing for America.

There is now more than enough evidence in the media and recent books to start an investigation of this mafia-like cult. If the IRS and Justice Department continues to sit on their laurels, then they have betrayed the US public.

I wonder if the IRS would approve them today, now that so much evidence is out there? If they would, we are clearly in trouble as a nation.

Just in time for the founder's birthday.

Wrapped up and tied with a bow.

Somewhere a zombie Marilyn Monroe sings in a tattered, husky contralto:

    "Happy Birthday to you..."
  22. Re: ABC's Four Corners - Scientology: The Ex-Files

I was speaking to an ex sea org member who was good friends with Tommy when he was heading celebs at celeb centre. Surprisingly they said (and i trust their judgement) that he is a really nice person, not an arsehole at all. The person was sad to see Tommy like this and said they could tell he was not wanting to say what he was saying. Apparently he has a sea org tatoo on his shoulder.

Re: ABC's Four Corners - Scientology: The Ex-Files

The truthiness in Tommy's statement, if Tommy worked for the IRS:

"No, Americans aren't forced to pay income taxes! That's absolutely and totally voluntary. Those who decide to not pay taxes may be asked to spend some time at one of our federal retreat centers, where they can consider the merits of taxes while undistracted by things like job and family. But the choice is up to them!"

Re: ABC's Four Corners - Scientology: The Ex-Files

I certainly hope no one reports Tommy's apparent "illegal" usage of the trademarked Sea Org symbol without paying a royalty of some kind.

RTC wants reports of: "Use of the trademarks and service marks of the Scientology religion without express permission or license from RTC or its authorized licensees" as per the reporting section of the RTC.org website.

Re: ABC's Four Corners - Scientology: The Ex-Files

Pretty much all of this. It was so rewarding to see a news program finally get ALL of it right. The problem isn't David Miscavige. The problem is Hubbard and the crap he created. Lil Davey is just running L Ron's gameplan. This FZ/Rathbun shit that it will all be okay if Miscavige is taken down is shit.

Sent the link to the nice Christian over 60 lady in our office....asked her to watch it so I could get her opinion of what she saw. (She has no idea about anon and just a bit of knowledge about Sci, but she's smart and sweet and sometimes we discuss religion and faith.)

She then emailed to her friends from her church. What got her? FORCED ABORTIONS. Seriously have never seen her so upset.

Asked her what she thought of the Scientology spokesman, and she says, "Oh, the liar."

Two days in a fucking row from two of the most (arguably) respected journalistic organizations in the 2 countries where Scientology does not want this kind of heat right now.

Apparently, Four Corners relied on a lot of the documentation they've posted at this link to prepare the story. A quick glance doesn't show anything that stands out as really new, but I'm looking it through it now...thought it worth mentioning if others missed the link in OP like me:

After the New York Times and Four Corners, if the OZ senate votes for the inquiry into Scientology, I will spontaneously orgasm.

I have also heard the same thing from people I trust, and Jason Beghe (on the WBM video) tells a very touching story about what a lovely friend Tommy was to him.

I think the take-away is that this is what the cult does to people. Lilies that fester smell far worse than weeds.
  27. Re: ABC's Four Corners - Scientology: The Ex-Files

Funny shit you guys have a turn of phrase that just cracks me up. Thanks for all your responses and well wishes. I trust all the exes did you proud last night. Our family was pleased to have done the doco.

Yeah, I knew it was coming after all the others got it, but it was worth it. It stayed up all weekend and got at least 400 views or so, last I saw.

At least it will live forever on rutube...

Edit: I see a lot of other Four Corners shows on youtube under different account names. Looks promising... maybe they're like BBC and don't care.

Re: ABC's Four Corners - Scientology: The Ex-Files

There are so many ways Tommy comes across as a complete docuhenozzle in this, but I'd like to point out, regarding the Fiona Peachey shore story, that there are no public phones in downtown Clearwater. Not to the best of my knowledge, at any rate. And it's not like she'd have the time to wander off and use one, to call home to Australia, between being bussed from her post to the cafeteria then back to her post and then to berthing.

Which street was she walking down Tommy Davis? I wager I could prove you are lying within 10 minutes using Google maps streetview.

ok whatever you say you liar
  35. Re: ABC's Four Corners - Scientology: The Ex-Files

    Thanks for that.

Talking to work colleagues today and it was fairly unanimous TD is a lying creep. People who pay tax are asking why they are subsidizing a 'church' that does these things... This will have a mammoth effect across Australia. A lot of people otherwise uninterested in Scientology got to see this. This is really very good.

Re: ABC's Four Corners - Scientology: The Ex-Files

Hana Eltringham Whitfield (ask Tommy Davis what drugs he's taking) comes across as totally sincere and believable. I want to see the cult just try and attack this lady.

And she was kind enough to tell viewers all about Xenu.

    I love her.

Re: ABC's Four Corners - Scientology: The Ex-Files

She comes across as a very articulate and classy lady, despite her years in Sci.

I double facepalmed when TD refered to the benignness of the RPF, but the look on her face was classic.
